Contrary to popular belief, being a minimalist doesn’t mean living without the things you love–

Living a minimalist lifestyle involves being intentional with your choices, only keeping things that bring actual value to your life.

Since I’ve started living a more “simplistic” lifestyle, I’ve discovered some fantastic multipurpose items that are PACKED with benefits

These items have allowed me to successfully replace multiple items with just ONE thing that does it all, which has also helped me reduce clutter in my space

If you’re looking for some incredible minimalist essentials that will help make your life easier, here are 8 of my favorite multipurpose items I use as minimalist.

#1. Rosehip Seed Oil

As a minimalist, I always look for core products that serve multiple purposes.

Rosehip seed oil is one of those essential multipurpose items that can be used for hair, skin, AND nails!

It’s packed with vitamins C and F which are great for keeping skin healthy and preventing damage from free radicals.

It also has anti-inflammatory properties, making it ideal for treating conditions like eczema and psoriasis. It’s lightweight and easily absorbed, so it won’t leave your hair all greasy or make your skin feel oily.

In other words, it’s the perfect minimalist product in the beauty department for keeping your hair, skin, and nails healthy and looking their best!

This product alone has allowed me to strip down the number of products I use during my beauty regimen and has been an absolute game-changer in multiple ways.

#2. Instant Pot

At first glance, the Instant Pot may seem like just another bulky appliance taking up space in your kitchen– but don’t be fooled by its size or appearance like I initially was…

The Instant Pot has become one of my kitchen’s most versatile and multipurpose items. With the ability to slow cook, pressure cook, sear, and even air fry, the Instant Pot does it all.

And, because it’s a one-pot appliance, it prevents you from dirtying multiple dishes. Whether preparing a multicourse meal or cooking up quick and easy weeknight dinners, the Instant Pot is guaranteed to make your life easier.

If you’re looking for multipurpose items that can help you cut down on cook time and dishwashing, this one is definitely for you!

#3. Echo Dot

This might be the most controversial item on the list.

However, I love my Echo Dot – it’s the perfect minimalist essential, and our home couldn’t function without them! It has multiple functions and can be used in countless different ways. Plus, it keeps me organized and has replaced so many items.

For example, I use it as an intercom in my condo–and we have one in every room of our house.

It’s become integrated into our family systems which we rely on heavily, considering our home spans over three floors, and everyone has a different schedule!

The Echo Dot helps to keep everyone on the same page. We also use it to manage our calendars and remind us about important events. Safe to say, it’s a lifesaver!

In addition, it’s also great for:

  • listening to music
  • getting information from Google
  • figuring out measurements while you’re cooking.

The list goes on!

The Echo Dot is one of the best multipurpose items for busy people who want to stay organized and efficient.👌

#4. Vinegar

Some multipurpose items belong in every household, and vinegar is just one example.

This versatile liquid can be used for cleaning, cooking, and even neutralizing stale smells.

A bottle of vinegar should be a staple in every minimalist household because it serves many purposes. It can clean glass, stainless steel, and countertops.

It’s also safe to clean things you use to make food and beverages (like your coffee machine) rather than using chemicals like bleach.

Vinegar can also be mixed with essential oils to make natural cleaning solutions. And, of course, it can be used in cooking to flavor your dishes.

If you’re looking for essential multipurpose items that can do it all, vinegar is the answer. It’s one of those minimalist multipurpose items that will keep your household fresh from stale odors and clean without all the harsh chemicals.

#5. Coconut Oil

There are some minimalist essentials that I just can’t live without, and coconut oil is one of them.

This versatile oil has many uses as a home product and food item. As a home product, it’s highly hydrating and provides instant moisture for dryness relief.

It’s also a significant barrier oil, which helps dilute the strength of essential oils while still allowing their benefits to be absorbed through the skin.

And, of course, it’s natural and safe to use!

As a food item, coconut oil is very healthy. It’s rich in nutrients and has been shown to have various health benefits, including reducing inflammation, boosting brain function, and aiding in weight loss. It’s a powerhouse in a jar!

Coconut oil is worth trying out if you’re looking for a versatile home product OR a healthy food item.

#6. Essential Oils

Essential oils are a versatile and natural way to improve your home and your life in general. (trust me)

With so many different types of oils available, there is basically an oil for everything. From eucalyptus oil for colds and congestion to lavender oil for relaxation and sleep, essential oils can provide a vast variety of benefits.

You can add essential oils to your body wash, cleaning supplies, and facial products. They are safe for your skin and can also help improve your overall health and well-being.

Just make sure you’re not buying cheap brands filled with chemicals. You’re looking for quality oils here with good sourcing practices.

With so many uses, it’s no wonder that essential oils are a staple in minimalist homes, including my own!

Choosing multipurpose items with multiple functions can save space and money, and you’ll love all the benefits these versatile oils offer!

#7. Caraway Pots

The Caraway Dutch Oven is one of my kitchen’s most versatile and minimalist-friendly items. It can be used on the stovetop or in the oven, making it a true all-in-one pot.

I can cook almost anything in it, from stews and soups to roasted vegetables and one-pot meals– it’s also great for baking bread, cakes, and casseroles.

Because it’s so versatile, the Caraway Dutch Oven has replaced many of my other pots, pans, and bakeware. I only have five pots and pans, which has freed up so much space in my kitchen.

I love how this minimalist approach to cooking has simplified my life and decluttered my home.

#8. Smartphone

There’s no doubt that smartphones are incredibly versatile devices. Most people use them for basic tasks like making calls and sending texts (or perhaps spending too much time scrolling social media), but they’re capable of much more.

With the right apps, you can use your smartphone for just about anything:

  • Managing your finances
  • Editing videos
  • Learning new things
  • Connecting to Echo Dots
  • Taking notes

and more!

If you’re looking to declutter your life, it can be set up to help you develop and create systems that allow you to be more efficient with your time and accomplish your goals.

Smartphones are designed to adapt to almost any lifestyle, so you can use them as much or as little as you want– and for just about anything.

And since smartphones typically have multiple functions built into one device, you can declutter your life even further by getting rid of all those single-purpose gadgets.

If you’re looking for a versatile and minimalist device, a smartphone is the way to go!

Conclusion

While this list may seem like a no-brainer to some, I’m always surprised how many people don’t have these items in their homes… they honestly make things SO much more manageable.

I think sometimes, people feel like having more things is the solution to making their lives feel easier or more efficient since they’ll have everything for every possible situation– but in reality, the opposite is true.
